15-07-25. Day 105. HoJo, Das Boots, Scout, and Bird dog – Mark Trail CDT
Hiking The Continental Divide Trail
Mark Trail CDT 2015
There has to be birds to wake me up. It’s the only way. It was 5:15 am and still no birds. Flop chirped “Good Morning Mark Trail” . I guess that’s going to have to suffice. No birds… Very strange. We hiked on some amazing trail to Deadman Lake. We then chose the most direct route north….which was straight up…..Soon we were without trail. No worries, maybe a little stressful but just a typical day on the CDT
We met HoJo early in the morning, Scout and Das Boots just after lunch, and Bird Dog after dinner. We spent lots of time telling stories and talking about the trail coming up. As always we were trying to get in 20 miles so off we went, parting ways till we meet again.
Flop and I found a great campsite around 7:00 pm. We walked to water, had a snack, and went to bed.
Near Meadow Creek, 22 Miles
