15-09-11. Day 152. Climbing up – Mark Trail CDT
Hiking The Continental Divide Trail
Mark Trail CDT 2015
The frost was heavy on my tent since we were in the open and down low next to Grizzly Creek and the road. I called out at 5:30 am to wake the boys…..Not a sound. I hooted Cock-a-doodle-do as I started the road walk back into the mountains.
The hike was mostly on dirt forest service roads as I climbed from 8,300 ft to 11,500 ft. back up to the Divide. I passed a few hunter camps and guys posing as hunters just to get outdoors for a few days.
The views were wonderful as I hiked along the Rabbit Ears Range and around Sheep Mtn. I found a special spot to camp at 11,000 ft in the middle of the trail where the wind was blocked and I could watch the sunset and sunrise…No Grit, Face, or Patch
Past Sheep Mtn. 26.5 Miles
