15-08-14. Day 125. Hikers – Mark Trail CDT
Hiking the Continental Divide Trail
Mark Trail CDT 2015
I was up at 5:00. Packed and rinsed off before we left. Marc and Cece were great hosts. It was sad to leave. Marc drove me to Steve’s Cafe. “Now I can always drive you after work to the pass….. And if it’s slow” Marc said. Awesome… Really Awesome.
Helena has some amazing residents. Marc and Cece …. What can I say? Thanks
I met Ralph at the Capital Post Office. He offered to take me to McDonald Pass so we decided to have breakfast, then ride. We talked about everything but mostly about Montana. Such a diverse state with lots of natural resources. Mining and Tourism. ..
Back on the trail I looked at the water situation. Guthook app said twenty miles no water…..really?. My pack is full and now I have to carry three liters of water. Oh boy… Here we go.
Some trail but mostly forest road walk. As I was hiking to Dana Spring, Justa drove up. “Going to Dana Springs?” Yep. Lint, Patches, and Grapenut are just behind you……Hikers?
Can’t be true. It’s True. True North bounders.
Congrats to all the true north bounders….
I ate second dinner and all three hiked up about twenty minutes later. It was like we were old friends. Joking and snacking.. I drank my beer and it started to rain. Or appeared like it was raining…What ever…. Another wonderful day…. Edit…It was raining….
Dana Spring. 24 miles
