15-08-12.  Day 123.  Trail Magic – Mark Trail CDT

I slept great. Level ground helps a lot. The hiking was along forest roads, then trail up and over a mountain, the back on forest roads. I was looking forward to visit Helena. I had a name of a Trail Angel and was trying to set up something as I was hiking to McDonald Pass. No luck so I guess I would have to stay at the Budget Inn.

As I was hiking the access road I could see the highway below. I raised my thumb just in case someone was looking my way. The pickup truck’s break lights lit up. It can’t be that easy. Marc and Cece said they live in Helena. Do you need a place to stay? Oh boy. It gets even better. Shower, laundry, and Dinner…..  Wow. CDT Trail Magic!

Dawn from a bicycle group offered to loan me a bike. It is all coming together. ….
